The Miami FC closed out a two-match road trip, Wednesday, against Ottawa Fury FC. After a slow start the Miami FC picked up steam late in the match but could not find a match-winner, leaving Canada with a point.

The first half started slow but the Miami FC began to find it’s form just before the half.

Striker Pablo Campos nearly scored in the 23rd minute. The crafty veteran chased down the Fury keeper and blocked the clearance attempt, but the ball didn’t roll into the net.

Blake Smith came alive late in the first half, creating multiple scoring chances. The squad’s best chance of the half came in the 41st minute after a Smith cross nearly found two streaking Miami FC players and also took a dangerous touch off an Ottawa defender.

Deep into extra time Campos would have two more opportunities to put the Miami FC ahead, but could not convert, sending the two sides into halftime knotted up at 0-0.

Similar to the first half, the second half took some time to heat up.

The 59th minute would see Dane Richards nearly score from distance. The keeper parried the shot towards Campos but he could not finish the rebound opportunity. The chance led to a corner that would see a Rhett Bernstein header glance the crossbar.

Calvin Rezende, who put in a strong 90 minutes of work, played a great ball to Richards but the shot could not find the target in the 73rd minute.

The Miami FC would continue to push for a game-winner, but the match would end in a 0-0 draw.

The squad returns to FIU Stadium, Saturday, August 27 for a clash with Minnesota United FC.
